Happy St David’s Day to you too! Growing up in Wales I have fond memories of how we celebrated the day. Not so much here in Georgia! About the room .. Oddly I don’t seem to be able to pick out what I like most and least about the room. I feel neutral about the room. I would not choose all that pattern in pillows and the gallery, but somehow it works. It does not evoke any strong feelings either way. Looking forward to other comments!

I like the fact that the Ercol furniture is elegant and stylish and that the cushions and pictures add interest, texture and pattern.Personally I love it, the only negative thoughts I have about it are that the rug wouldn’t stay white very long in my house, but maybe that’s more of a comment on my housekeeping than on this scheme!

Hi Decorator’s Notebook. I love the Ercol sofa, the Ercol style desk chair and the cool radio but I’m not keen on the retro patterns. I also find the large blue wall pattern out of place. Perhaps if it was red/orange and a little smaller I think the gallery would flow better and sit well with the rest of the interior? Hope you have a good weekend and Happy St David’s Day!

I like the desk lamp a lot. And the photo wall is really neat. I am not too fond that all the wood seem to be the same colour. At least one of them could be another colour, because it feels like the wood dominates the room.

I really don’t like this room – the gallery wall is too mis-matched to be calm on the eye & I prefer symmetry in picture arrangements.

The room just seems thrown together & not very comfortable. The only thing I like is the lamp on the desk as I have a similar one in our study …

I love the pattern & colours of the cushions. I also quite like the photo wall arrangement although I would not have chosen some of the pictures (banana one in particular).
I don’t like the texture and colour of the rug and although I’m a great fan of Ercol furniture the wood is a bit too shiny for my taste. This is my first post here :)

I love the feeling of the room, the space reminds me of my grannies home and all the good memories. Am not really fond of the pillows, though, however they still look cool with the whole set.

Yikes…I seriously like nothing whatsoever in this room..it looks like a first apartment with inherited/discarded bits and pieces shoved in a space with no thought ! There seems to be no cohesion between the furniture and paintings and fabrics….and I loathe furniture which matches…..even the pictures are hung too high in my opinion….

I really love the couch and the patterned cushions; a nice splash of colour. I do not like the rug (for the same reasons as mentioned above re keeping clean!) and neither do I like the picture gallery. While I do like galleries, what I don’t understand is the mishmash of images; to me it looks like a collection from a second-hand store, But then, the pictures may well all have significant meaning to the owner so it’s perfect for them just not us voyeurs!

Hi Joanna – yes, you’re absolutely right about the gallery wall. I guess only the owner can judge the beauty of something personal like that. Our homes all have thing that mean something to us that aren’t necessarily the prettiest!

Love all the furniture, especially the sofa. So interesting that a lot of people really hate it! I like the cushions but there are maybe too many florals, I would have some geometric patterns in there too. The rug looks very luxurious but a nightmare to keep clean, I agree.

I like the radio and desk lamp the most. Of course, the Ercol furnitures too. but the flowery cushions and gallery wall made the space look too busy. The rug is definitely my least favourite. Oops, and I forgot to mention, love the framed Andy Warhol banana.
