Join The Room Debate!

Morning all! I can’t believe it’s already two weeks since the last Room Debate – time is flying so fast at the moment. Is it for you too?

It’s been a while since we chatted about kitchen design so I thought this would be a good candidate for today’s discussion. As always, it’s easy to get involved. Just have a good look at the room photo below and leave a comment with your answers to these two questions:

One thing I like most about this room is…

One thing I like least about this room is…

{via The Style Files}

It seems an unusual mix of elements in some ways so I’m looking forward to hearing what you think works and what doesn’t.

Have a lovely weekend!

    Good morning!

The thing I like MOST about this kitchen are the open units – I love seeing alternatives to traditional cupboards and I really like these chunky concrete shelves and the way you can see the exposed brick wall behind. If I had the right sort of house I’d copy this right away.

The thing I like LEAST are the peculiar animal shaped ceramics on the kitchen table – I just don’t understand why they’re there and what they have to do with anything. I’d much prefer to see some rustic turned wood, rough terracotta crockery and heavy recycled glassware on there. Much more in keeping.

    How about you?

Here are my thoughts and what I would have done if it was my kitchen….

I love: The stone-wall, the rustic beams, the sheep-skin on the chairs and the whole room!

I like least: The industrial stainless steel part of it…

I would have had old rustic wicker chairs with sheep-skin on them, big chandeliers both on the table and hanging up and less of the stainless steel and stick more to the country-style! Still love it….;)

I love the room itself with the wooden beams and the amazing stone walls. Kind of like the table, the chairs and the kitchen (minus the backsplash). Hate the lamps. Too much stainless steel in here. There´s usually nothing wrong with bringing modern elements into old surroundings, but I don´t like the effect here.

I didn’t even notice those animal ceramics! That’s why I’m not a stylist!
The thing I like the most is the rough, worn table with the perspex chairs.
The thing I like the least is the lampshades, agree with Katrin, too much silver/stainless steel going on.

    Love this kitchen!
What I like most: how it is rustic and european-farm-house-looking. (No other way to describe it!)
What I like least: the lucite chairs; a bit too cold for my taste, would have gone with a warmer texture like a different type of wood or even fabric… even faux fur!

I love everything! The neutral tones, the cozy fur, the brick walls, the table the lighting. Everything but those chairs. I can’t relax looking at them. I hate plastic and maybe that’s it but I hate those chairs.
