Isn’t it lovely when the place you live keeps offering up new surprises? Our most recent discovery was Ladye Bay, an idyllic rocky cove nestled between Clevedon and Portishead on the Bristol Channel. We call it our secret beach, because on a warm evening you can enjoy the sunset there with barely another soul around. When we received an exciting delivery of Honeycomb throws from our newest supplier, House of Rym, it seemed the obvious location to show how beautiful and versatile these woven geometric throws can be. Here are some of the shots we captured in the golden evening light.
House of Rym is built on a love affair between contemporary design and ancient handicraft, pairing Swedish designers with traditional weaving groups in Tunisia. These throws are ethically woven on jacquard looms to create beautiful, complex designs. They are inspired by woven hammam towels called ‘foutas’ which have been used since the Ottoman Empire.
The throws have really lovely soft feel that’s perfect for summer. They’re woven from cotton which means they drape beautifully without being too heavy. They would look gorgeous over the arm of the sofa or at the end of a bed, teamed with crisp white bedlinen.
I can’t choose whether I like the rose pink or warm grey best! Those coral touches in the grey throw are to die for, but the pink is so pretty. Decisions decisions…
We made a little video too. It’s a little wobbly but we’re calling that homemade charm!
